1970s & 2000 Echo Logs are ONLINE!
January 29, 2010
Another decade of yearbooks has found its way onto the UCA website. The 1970s are now live. The 2000 yearbook is also online in celebration of Alumni Homecoming (Fall 2010).
As we are digitizing these books, they are getting longer which has led to an interesting observation. On average, more students attended UCA with each passing decade. What a great blessing for UCA. This also means that digitizing the books is taking longer because the books are longer. We’ll keep working on this project. Thanks for visiting the yearbook archives.

This Week at UCA: Jan. 4 – Feb 4
January 29, 2010
Dear UCA Family,
Monday begins our Student Week of Prayer. The students and staff consider this the best week on campus. Staff are committing to praying around the clock for the speakers, student body, staff and all families members. Would you join us? If you interact with other UCA parents or grandparents pray together. The speakers are anticipating a God-filled week. Please hold them and all of our campus up before the Lord, may the forces of Satan be pushed back! We always note the working of Satan during this time, we need your prayers.
Did you know…Our Prayer PATCH Coordinator, Linnea Torkelsen reports “there are almost 300 prayer guardians functioning this year – standing in the gap for our students, our faculty and our campus as a whole. I believe that is one of the many reasons UCA is a superb choice for our young people to get their Adventist education!” want to be involved, email her at alumni@ucaa.org.
GRANDPARENTS – parents please send any changes to grandparents addresses, etc. by Monday, February 1. We will be printing the labels to mail the invitation to Grandparent Weekend March 12 and 13 next week. If you would like to add grandparents to our database, please send grandparents name, address, and email address to Carol at: carol.ochoa@ucaa.org.

This Week at UCA – January 22-28
January 22, 2010
Dear UCA Family,
Parents, we appreciate the nice comments you send us. Recently, Brenda, the mother of Chad a senior, sent us an email about parents banding together to pray. Here’s part of her email…
“Especially with the student week of prayer coming up, we parents can be praying and lifting our kids and their friends up in prayer. I like the way Augustine’s mother lifted her son up thorough scripture. We can do the same. If there are any parents that have promises to share with each other or want to call another parent to pray with for their son or daughter you are welcome to give out my contact info. It just seems like we as parents need to be banding together to support the work that you are doing there at the school. May God richly bless.” (You can contact Brenda by calling UCA at 509-245-3600 and asking for information)
GRANDPARENTS – parents should have received a pink printout containing the info we have for grandparents in their last statement. If parents did not receive any info in their statement and would like to add grandparents to our database, please send grandparents name, address, and email address to Carol at carol.ochoa@ucaa.org by February 1. All grandparents that are in our database will receive an invitation to Grandparent Weekend March 12 and 13.
MISSION TRIP – there is still space to participate in the All Nations Mission Trip to the Yakama Nation. The cost is only $200 and students can still go home for part of spring break. For more info contact Lynda North 509-245-3610 or lynda.north@ucaa.org.

January 19, 2010
Heritage weekend is over but the enjoyment of it doesn’t have to end. Every year, UCA has a weekend of emphasis on the history of God’s people. This year’s theme was looking at “God’s promises in history”. Students, staff, & UCA church members researched, wrote scripts and presented the lives of historic Biblical & Christian leaders.

First semester of 2009-10 school year is almost history. Everyone will enjoy this Sabbath’s rest! You are invited to Heritage Weekend beginning at vespers tomorrow evening. The students involved have been practicing and we anticipate a blessing as we consider how God has been faithful with His promises throughout history even though we have not always.
The theme for Heritage Weekend is “Our Choice – God’s Choice”, highlighting God’s promises throughout history and how we have responded to them and God. A number of students will be involved in the presentations on Friday at vespers and Sabbath School.
