DID YOU KNOW Seventh-day Adventist Christian education was featured in the Christian Science Monitor in an article entitled For Real Education Reform, Take a Cue from the Adventists? Here is a good article to not only read yourself, but also to share with someone who is contemplating Seventh-day Adventist Christian Education. http://www.csmonitor.com/Commentary/Opinion/2010/1115/For-real-education-reform-take-a-cue-from-the-Adventists\

Giving Thanks at Thanksgiving
At this time of year while many reflect on the historical part of thanksgiving, we as believing Christians have so much more to be thankful for! With the white snow that blanketed our campus this morning, it comes as a great reminder to be thankful for the sacrifice made by Jesus. Through His blood we can be made clean—as white as snow! So as we sit around our thanksgiving tables, may we not only be thankful for the food, family and friends, but also for our soon coming Savior and the free gift of salvation!
God bless,

WINTER DRIVING/ATTENDANCE POLICY
SAFETY IS OUR FIRST CONCERN!
Day students are encouraged to stay in the dorm when it is unsafe to travel. In this case the fee for staying overnight in the dorm would be waived. Please make arrangements with the deans. Students driving during poor road conditions should allow extra driving time.
If Liberty School District is closed we will continue to have classes. Parents will need to evaluate the situation. If Liberty is closed students’ perfect attendance will not be affected and absences will be excused. Our top priority is student safety, but we also don’t want them to miss classes unnecessarily. Sometimes Liberty closes because of impassable side roads that do not affect travel to UCA.
If Liberty School District is on a two hour delay we will operate as normal. If you have a special circumstance please advise us.
Tune in to the radio or TV stations in the morning to have a list of school closings. You may also receive the same information on their websites.
If students have travel emergencies or will be staying home due to road conditions, parents need to call Carol Ochoa at 245-3614.
Again, I encourage you to help your student allow extra travel time or have them stay in the dorm when necessary.
We are all praying for a safe winter.
God bless,

November 4, 2010
Dear UCA Family,
This Sabbath UCA will be sending eight students to Kennewick to have the church service and talk about what Adventist education has meant in their lives. There will also be three students going to the Moses Lake church to talk about how Christian education and UCA has influenced them. This is in addition to the Choraliers going to the Lewiston area to enrich their services. If you would like students to come to your church contact Joe Hess at 509-245-3680 or joe.hess@ucaa.org
DID YOU KNOW we have 126 students on campus today learning new gymnastics and acrobatic routines during the Gymnastics Clinic? They rotate through five skill areas, learning from qualified instructors.
REMEMBER Parent Weekend/UCC Family Fellowship is Friday-Sunday, November 12-14. The Upper Columbia Conference’s theme for Family Fellowship is Go Mission Fest. The keynote speakers are Gary Krause from the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Office of Mission and Ramon Canals the North Pacific Union Hispanic Ministries Director. Click on this link http://uccsda.org/missionfest for the speakers of the breakout sessions and more.
PARENT WEEKEND is next weekend. Parents should have received information by mail. If you haven’t, contact Joe Hess at 245-3680 or joe.hess@ucaa.org. The schedule is attached. Notice that Sabbath School begins at 9:30 a.m. not 10:00 a.m.
