Friday Morning Prayer
Every Friday morning, a group meets in the lobby of the ad building to pray. If you are nearby, we would love to have you join us, if not, please join us in prayer wherever you are. This week we are praying for Pastor Sid Hardy and his wife Zara and their family, and for our students and community as we participate in our first HOPE Taskforce day for this school year.
This Friday night is our Class Vespers. Freshmen will be meeting behind the gym at the fire bowl at 7:00 p.m. Sophomores will meet at the Castrejón’s home at 7:00 p.m. Juniors will meet at the UCA Church at 7:30 p.m. Seniors will meet at the Johnson’s home at 7:30 p.m. We encourage our day students to join us!
Our Saturday Night Activity for September 14 is a barn party at Karen and Marvin Gee’s barn. This is a fun-filled evening that includes worship, a bonfire, hayrides, and other activities. Sign-ups to ride the buses will be available in the dorms, and day students who wish to come are welcome to sign up for transportation, as well.
ASB Church is on our calendar for Sabbath, September 14, but it was moved to the first Sabbath of the school year, so it will not be happening this week. Sabbath School is meeting in the Assembly Hall at 10:00 a.m. and church will meet in the UCA Church at 11:00 a.m.
On Sunday, our staff and students will be participating in our first HOPE Taskforce projects for this school year. Project lists are posted in the Ad building and the dorms. Day students must ride school transportation to all projects unless they are dropped off and picked up by a parent or guardian. There are several projects that have the option of a Yoke’s pick-up and drop-off for day students. Those sign-up sheets are in the Principal’s Office. If you have questions about this, please contact Curtis Anderson at email@example.com.
Home Leave is almost here. Students will be dismissed from classes at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18. Classes resume on Monday, September 23. Dorm students will be receiving an email from Charles Hartman about Home Leave transportation. Students will need to respond to the email in order to reserve their spots on the Home Leave buses. Please see the attached document for bus departure and arrival times and other information. 2019-2020 Home Leave transportation info For more information about reserving a Home Leave bus ride, or payment information, contact Mr. Hartman at Registrar@ucaa.org or Carol Ochoa in the Business Office at firstname.lastname@example.org. The UCA Dorms re-open at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2019.
There is a Varsity soccer game at Oaks Academy in Spokane Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, September 13. See the Athletics page on the UCA Website for more information, or contact Coach Reading at email@example.com. The link to the athletics page is: ucaa.org/life-at-uca/athletics/
